Mindfulness has emerged from the ancient Buddhist meditation called Vipassana, a mental discipline aimed at training the mind to stay in the present and respond to situations and others based on the moment right now, rather than reacting through programming from a past experience or jumping to a conclusion and future that hasn’t even happened yet.
Being mindful is not a destination, it is a state of natural being that is acquired through regular practice & commitment. Since offering Meditation to clients in my practice and from my own personal experience, the results so far has been profound in life and business productivity.
As we know, stress is the cause of a lot of illnesses & has the ability to make a lot of conditions worse. Mindfulness has the power to decrease stress and paves the way for clearer thinking, improved sleep quality, reduced addictive behaviors and greater emotional intelligence levels.
It is no secret that through the power of our minds we create prisons or palaces, happiness or personal suffering and the undiscovered or deeply hidden thoughts and images we repeat in our minds like personal mantra’s, are what our very powerful minds turn into today’s reality! Meditation has the ability to focus internally, challenge & change what we do not want through cleansing away all negative & limited thinking – Powerful stuff!
Like anything, once awareness is present & harnessed, opportunities are available to take personal responsibility and ownership with change imminent.
